Aurora Beauty: Sample Reviews

So yours truly has recently been going a little overboard on ordering samples {it happens}, but I wanted to take the time to review each item in detail from two of my top online green beauty boutiques: Spirit Beauty Lounge, and Aurora Beauty. Both of these green beauty sites offer great sample programs, with some incredible non-toxic brands across the board! Today, I have reviews of samples I purchased from Aurora Beauty, and can I go ahead and say I was super impressed with the company's personal thank you note? AND they included a surprise coupon code for my next order!

All brands sold by this online boutique use "only organic, natural, ethically wild-crafted, fair-trade, and cruelty-free ingredients" & their products "are packaged in biodegradable, recyclable and eco-friendly packaging." You can shop worry free with this lovely company! Not to mention their sample program is very affordable -

Program: 5 {packed w/ product} samples for only $15 {+ shipping} so it totaled to around $20

Popular brands: Antonym Cosmetics, Fitglow Beauty, NU Evolution Cosmetics, Studio 78 Paris, Mahalo, & Eco Tan to name some!

Products sampled:
  • 1. Antonym Cosmetics Baked Blush in Copper {$36}:
    • + 2 words: MUST HAVE
    • + Gorgeous copper blush color that I've also seen used as a bronzer
    • + Lovely finish with a slight shimmer that feels incredibly silky on application
    • + Very long-lasting
    • + Easily blended and can be built up on darker skin tones {I tested on my bf LOL}
    • + Available in gorgeous peach and rose colors also
    • Purchase full-size? Refer to the "2 words" above ;)
  • 2. Fitglow Beauty Vita-Active Foundation in VF3 {$59}:
    • + Light to medium coverage foundation
    • + Gorgeous glowing finish, but personally, my t-zone was a bit shinier than usual after around 5 hours, so I would have to use powder with this one or skip on the argan oil before application
    • + Lightweight feel & very moisturizing so it's perfect for normal to dry skin
    • + Easy to blend, slightly creamy consistency
    • + Reminded me a bit of the Vapour Beauty foundation that I reviewed in an earlier post, in terms of coverage and look
    • - Has a fairly strong fragrance to it, from the natural oils I'm sure, but the smell did fade shortly after application
    • - 7 shades, but for darker skin tones only one shade is currently available, and the VF3 had a bit of an orange tint to it but overall matched my skin tone pretty well
    • - Quite pricey, although I definitely want to note its ingredients have incredible skincare benefits so that is why, I'm sure
    • - Little to no coverage of active blemishes, which meant a lot more concealer!
    • Purchase full-size? Possibly, I truly loved the finish and feel of this foundation but it was such light coverage, and unfortunately, my skin needs a fuller coverage lately.
  • 3. Fitglow Beauty Lipstick in Adore {$24}:
    • + Absolutely gorgeous deep plum color that was very opaque
    • + Long-lasting, with a beautiful finish
    • + Quite moisturizing for a lipstick
    • + Trick: create a matte look by dabbing a light layer of powder over the product {works for any lipstick}
    • Purchase full-size? Yes! & they have 7 lovely shades to choose from on Aurora.
  • 4. NU Evolution Complete Coverage Foundation in 101 {$47}:
    • + I believe I have found my favorite of green beauty foundations thus far
    • + Full coverage was easily achieved with a small amount of product; this stuff blew me away {a tiny amount of foundation could provide a light to medium coverage if desired}
    • + Gorgeous finish with a slight glow {I do moisturize underneath all my foundations with argan oil} it is more of a true matte foundation without the argan
    • + Lightweight & doesn't appear cakey at all
    • + Blended beautifully {one of the easiest foundations to blend I've tried}
    • + Not extremely moisturizing in itself, so oily/combo skin types could use this product easily
    • + 8 shades available that cover a great range for all complexions
    • + This foundation looked gorgeous throughout the day, although my brightening powder didn't seem to sit well on top of it in areas I concealed {next time I'll spritz some setting spray to add moisture to the areas I conceal}
    • - The shade had quite an orange tint which worried me, but once blended it looked great. I plan to sample the lightest shade {100} just to compare
    • - Oiliness in t-zone after about 10 hours {impressive in my opinion}, but nothing a bit of powder couldn't solve
    • Purchase full-size? Yes, I plan to after I sample the lighter shade to determine a match. This may very well become my everyday foundation.
  • 5. Studio 78 "Off we go" Concealer in 01 At dawn {$31}:
    • + Great coverage, second best coverage of any green concealer I've tried, right behind Hynt Beauty's
    • + Covers blemishes and redness extremely well but wasn't quite bright enough for my under eye area
    • - Only comes in two shades, but 01 At dawn matched my skin tone very well even though it appeared quite dark in the sample container.
    • - A tad more expensive than I expected {the Hynt Beauty concealer is $24 with free shipping & has a wider range of shades}
    • Purchase full-size? I may purchase a full-size in the future for blemishes and use the Hynt Beauty just for my under eye since it's so brightening, but for now, I'm holding off.
That wraps it up! I highly recommend sampling products before purchasing the full-size, and Aurora Beauty has the best sample program I've seen in terms of price, amount of product, and customer service. Hope you all enjoyed, and if you'd like to see any of these products in action follow me on Instagram, I've showcased many of them there. The review blog of my Spirit Beauty samples will be coming soon!

Stay beautiful.
xoxo, Holly
