My obsession with beauty products began over a year ago (this happened to coincide with my "big girl job," so I finally had the money to be obsessed with something LOL). I have always loved makeup, but I began to venture into Ulta and Sephora more, and I found myself watching YouTube tutorials, amazed at how flawless they were, listening to their conventional product suggestions, and then grabbing my laptop or heading to the mall to do some shopping. After struggling with breakouts due to numerous of these newly suggested conventional foundations/powders/blushes I bought and tried, I knew I had to research an alternative. I could cover the blemishes well, but obviously the products covering them were only making things worse. That led me to the discovery that the ingredients within many (nearly all) conventional products are comedogenic, meaning they clog our pores and can worsen current breakouts and lead to new ones. I began the search for non-comedogenic products, and then it dawned on me if I'm so concerned about the ingredients within products I consume within my diet, why am I not as concerned with the products my skin consumes daily?
Thus my journey began to find "green beauty" products that perform as well as conventional products, but don't contain the chemicals, hormone disruptors, and comedogenic ingredients conventional brands do. The journey has not been easy, but I am here to share my experiences and, in turn, hopefully inform individuals and help ease someone's transition into a green beauty lifestyle. I will introduce you all to new makeup and skincare products and lines, provide product reviews, and demonstrate that organic and natural beauty products can create just as glamorous of a finish as conventional brands.
Stay beautiful.
xoxo, Holly
