Vapour Beauty Review + Demo

Hello, all. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Today, I want to introduce you to a brand I have grown to love: Vapour Beauty. For first impressions, here is the company's ingredient pledge -
"Vapour is 100% natural. It contains 70% organic ingredients and 30% mineral pigments and essential oils. That is it. Vapour contains No toxic chemicals, No parabens, No phalates, No animal testing, No nano-particles, No irradiation."
The company clearly lists all ingredients in their products' descriptions, and they have an ingredient glossary which is even more detailed! For my vegan readers, they do explicitly say they use organic beeswax in their products. All products are non-comedogenic meaning they won't clog your pores, and the majority of their products come in super simple stick applicators that you can apply directly to the skin if desired. One thing I immediately loved about this brand, aside from the incredible ingredients, is that they directly sell & encourage you to purchase a sample kit {seen above} The kit is only $15, and you get to choose 5 products from their line: these samples last a while, definitely long enough for you to truly get a feel for the product. Plus, when you order samples, they send you a coupon code for $10 off your first purchase. Let's review the products I sampled!

  1. Atmosphere soft-focus foundation - colors 115 & 123 ($50)
    • This is the brand's liquid foundation. It is sold as a medium to full coverage foundation, but I found it to be more of a light to medium coverage. It is somewhat buildable, but it didn't achieve a "full" coverage. This particular foundation is recommended for combination to oily skin.
    • Pros:
      • + The product never felt heavy or cakey in any way, it's very lightweight
      • + A very natural look that provides a slight glow
      • + Neutralizes redness and evens out skin tone very well
      • + Blends very easily
    • Cons:
      • - The product's description portrays it as water & perspiration resistant, but I found that it had lost some of its coverage after a warm, humid day in the south (Powder would help this, but this review is my experience with the foundation alone.)
      • - Has a very thin consistency in comparison to other liquid foundations (blend quickly)
      • - Seems to enhance unevenness and textured areas on the skin
      • - Was not a medium to full coverage as advertised
    • Purchase full-size? No
  2. Atmosphere luminous foundation - color 115 ($42)
    • This is the stick applicator foundation, which I prefer over their liquid formulation. It is described as a light to medium coverage foundation and is recommended for dry to normal skin.
    • Pros:
      • + Very lightweight product
      • + Creamy consistency that blends beautifully and melts into the skin
      • + Application is extremely easy
      • + Coverage is buildable, and I found it to provide more coverage than the soft-focus
      • + Neutralizes redness very well and evens skin tone
      • + Long-lasting (even in humidity)
      • + Leaves skin with a beautiful glow and dewy finish (which I love)
      • + You can purchase one a few shades darker and use it as a super easy contour stick!!
    • Cons:
      • - Like the soft-focus, this foundation did seem to highlight textured/uneven skin areas some
      • - If you moisturize with beauty oils and lotion, skip the oil because this product provides a TON of moisture
    • Purchase full-size? Yes!
  3. Illusionist concealer - color 015 ($24)
    • This product also comes in a stick applicator, but if covering blemishes, I would definitely use my fingertips as to not transfer bacteria. It is suitable for any skin type.
    • Pros:
      • + Provides good under eye coverage
      • + Brightening and dewy finish
      • + Evens skin tone well
      • + Doesn't settle in fine lines
      • + Long-lasting
    • Cons:
      • - Blemish coverage is poor
      • - The finish is a little too dewy for the under eye area (for my personal taste)
      • - Mascara transfers on under eye area throughout the day (maybe due to consistency, like the 100% pure concealer)
    • Purchase full-size? If I had not discovered Hynt Beauty's concealer first, yes!
  4. Aura multi-use: radiant - color Intrigue/205 ($36)
    • An Allure Best of Beauty Award winner for a reason! This multi-use stick comes in a wide variety of colors and finishes. The radiant line gives a soft, light shimmery finish that can be used on the eyes, lips, &/or cheeks. This color is a gorgeous deep peach with a touch of pink.
    • Pros:
      • + Gorgeous glowing finish, with just a touch of shimmer
      • + Very blendable
      • + Super pigmented and a ton of colors to choose from
      • + Easily buildable product
      • + Multi-use product (bigger bang for your buck!)
    • Cons
      • - None!
    • Purchase full-size? YES! (favorite green beauty blush I've tried to date)
  5. Halo illuminator ($36)
    • I received this as a bonus with my sample order, and I have to say I am impressed.
    • Pros:
      • + Provides a gorgeous highlight with a natural glow
      • + Easily blendable
      • + Smooth, lighweight consistency
      • + A small amount goes a long way
    • Cons:
      • - Didn't last all day (had to retouch after about 4 hours)
    • Purchase full-size? Yes!
Another unique thing about the brand, is they provide a 10% discount if you subscribe to items under their replenish service! Check that out here.

Demo makeup in photos:

  • Foundation: Atmosphere luminous foundation in 115 applied using the fingertips as a base, and I then went over the top with a layer of the Atmosphere soft-focus foundation in 115 and blended that out with my beauty blender. {I used the soft-focus over top because I use argan oil as a moisturizer prior to makeup application, and the luminous foundation alone was far too dewy, so I added the soft-focus to neutralize some of the oil} You can see above, the foundation does not cover textured areas very well: mainly on my chin & some on my cheeks, but it does provide a gorgeous finish.
  • Concealer: Illusionist concealer in 015 applied using the fingertips to my under eye area as well as my chin aka my problem area. As you can see, the concealer does not fully cover blemishes, but it does neutralize the redness some. It also provides a light to medium under eye coverage and leaves that dewy finish I mentioned in the review portion.
  • Blush: Aura multi-use radiant in intrigue applied using my fingertips, and blended out with my beauty blender. {LOVE this product, it has such a beautiful color and finish}
  • Highlight: Halo Illuminator to provide a slight highlight above the cheek bones, down the nose, and along the cupid's bow to provide just a soft glow.
  • Mascara: light coat of Physician's formula organic wear mascara, purchase here
  • Lips: Burts Bees lip gloss in harvest time, purchase at your local target or online here

  1. The sample kit sounds really nice! One of my favorite bloggers, Minimalist Beauty, loves the Vapour Instant skin perfector and that is where I first heard of Vapour! I would definitely like to try it! Samples are essential when buying green beauty products! You look really pretty and glowing;; healthy, dewy skin. I appreciate your thorough and honest review about the products! This is definitely one of the nice, minimalist brands out there!

    1. I love their blush! Hands down favorite product I sampled, and the color is just gorgeous! If you're even semi interested in the brand, you should definitely try the sample kit! It's such a good brand, and they have a nice sized line, it's not overwhelming at all, and they have plenty of color options. Thank you so much, it truly makes your skin look like a much better version of itself, in my opinion!
